New Delhi: Though the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet announced the names of candidates to be fielded in the elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), the party workers have started intense lobbying for the tickets.

On late Thursday night, the BJP workers coalesced outside the residence of the party in charge Delhi, Venkaiah Naidu and protested against the denial of ticket to MCD councillor from Model Town.

Opposing the decision, protestors demanded party leaders to reconsider the issue and give ticket to the present councillor. While trying to calm the situation, party leader Vijay Jolly explained that no consensus has been formed on the distribution of tickets so far.

Sources say, at the time of protest Naidu along with other party leaders Vijay Goel and Leader of Opposition in state assembly Prof Vijay Kumar Malhotra were engaged in giving final shape to list and the candidates to be fielded from different wards.
