Bhopal: In a bid to ensure its return to power, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Madhya Pradesh government is all set to woo the farmers in state. Party president Nitin Gadkari will flag off the Balram Sandesh Yatra to be begun on January 16, 2012.

After the meeting of BJP Kishan Morcha here on Friday, the state party president and Rajya Sabha MP Prabhat Jha said, “Balram Yatra is a massive campaign upon which the entire country is eyeing eagerly.”

About 10,000 party workers will visit 52,000 villages to disseminate the Balram Sandesh highlighting the welfare and pro-farmer schemes being carried out by the state government, Jha added.

The state government has disbursed loan to the farmers at an interest rate of mere one percent while it has procured record 50-lakh MT wheat, the state BJP chief informed.

“The villagers would also be made aware of alleged anti-farmer policies of the Centre. During the Yatra, seven youth Kamal Mitra would be made in every village,” opined Jha.

Opposition leader in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Opposition leader in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, the state in-charge and party general secretary Ananth Kumar, former president Venkaiah Naidu and the Chief Minister will remain present on the occasion.
