Ahmedabad: The youth wing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to take out a rally and ‘gherao’ Parliament in New Delhi on August 9, to protest against corruption.

Speaking to reporters here at the party headquarters on Friday, BJP youth wing president and MP Anurag Thakur said, "We have informed about ‘Chalo Delhi’ protest to our members of youth wing. Lakhs of youths will converge in Delhi on August 9 and will march to gherao Parliament."
He also pointed and advised Sachin Tendulkar and other prominent people to pay tax on their expensive vehicles.

Launching an attack on the Central government, Thakur said, “This is the most corrupt government the country has got in 63 years of its independence,” adding “the way Congress has plundered the government treasury in the past two years was not even done by the Britishers during their two hundred years of rule.”

"The 2G scam, Commonwealth Games scam, S-band deal between ISRO and Devas and Adarsh Society scam happened under the governance of Manmohan Singh. Yet, he is not ready to take responsibility of what has been done by his government," Thakur said.

He alleged that the government was now using force against those who are trying to fight corruption. "They used brutal police force against Baba Ramdev and his supporters who were silently protesting."

While challenging Congress leader Digvijay Singh, Thakur said, “Lakh of youths will unite in Delhi on August 9. The government can also use force against us. We will see how powerful they are."
On the issue of spying in the Finance Ministry, Thakur held the government responsible for it.
