Invoking the contentious issue of Article 370, Giriraj said if Kashmiri people can buy property in every corner of the country then non-Kashmiri people should be allowed to purchase property in the valley too while advocating a referendum on Article 370.

"My intention is not to say that everyone from a community is a terrorist. But when all those arrested are from one community, why are secular parties silent," Giriraj said, according to reports.

“Kashmiris buy property everywhere in the country. There must be a referendum on Article 370. The people should decide whether the Article is valid today in India,” he added.

Referring to Pakistan, Giriraj said those people who are trying hard to stop BJP’s prime ministerial candidate have their political Mecca Medina in the neighbouring country.

A former minister in Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, Singh is already facing a police case for his vile hate speech during the Lok Sabha elections campaign.

The saffron party leader had surrendered in a district court but was later given a bail in the hate speech case, which was lodged in Patna earlier this month.

The BJP leader had on April 19 created a row during an election meeting in Jharkhand's Deoghar district when he heedlessly claimed that all those opposing Modi should leave for Pakistan.

Three FIRs have already been lodged against him.
