“This is the end of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s era. Atalji had promised Article 370, Uniform Civil Code and Ram temple agenda will not be included in BJP’s manifesto. But today, what the BJP has done, marks the end of his era,” senior party leader KC Tyagi said.

BJP manifesto promises construction of Ram Temple

The BJP, which released its much-delayed manifesto on Monday, promised contentious issues like construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, abrogation of Article 370 giving special status to Jammu and Kashmir, enactment of Uniform Civil Code and economic growth.

“The BJP reiterates its stand to explore all possibilities within the framework of the Constitution to facilitate the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya,” the manifesto said.

The JD (U) ended its 17-year alliance with the BJP last year to oppose Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s elevation as the prime ministerial candidate.
