Guwahati: A bomb exploded on the railway tracks in central Assam's Dima Hasao district, damaging the track and disrupting movement of trains.
    
There was no casualty or injury as no train was passing at the time of the blast last night, said Northeast Frontier Railway (NEF) Spokesman S Hajong.
    
The bomb exploded on the tracks between Mahur and Phiding railway stations at around 11 pm, Hajong said.
    
No train was scheduled to pass over the track at the time of the explosion, he said.
    
A part of the track was damaged by the bomb blast, he said. The up Barak Valley Express was detained at lower Haflong and its corresponding down 15693 at Maibong.

Six injured in Manipur twin blasts

Meanwhile, six persons, including a 12-year old boy, were injured in twin bomb blasts at a market complex in Manipur, officials said on Thursday.
   
The first blast occurred at 9:00 pm on Wednesday night near a bank, followed by the second explosion 10 minutes later near a shop in the market area.
   
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals where their condition was stated to be out of danger, the officials said.
   
No individual or group has so far come forward to claim responsibility for the attack, they said.
