New Delhi: In a bid to ensure hassle free voting in the upcoming assembly polls, the Election Commission has appointed many block-level officials. Be it information about voting centers, photo I-card or voter’s slip, they would assist people during the assembly polls.

Meanwhile on the occasion of Voter’s Day on January 25, at least 1.11 crore youth would be administered oath for carrying out polls honestly. This event is believed to be an important exercise for all the five poll-bound states.

While giving the information on the Voter’s Day and elections preparations, the EC said that the block level officials would be made responsible to conduct polls without any hitch. “The role of political parties in distributing voter’s slip has not been stopped completely,” Chief Election Commissioner SY Qureshi said.

Voter’s Day will be celebrated in every part of the country where the voters in age group of 18 will get new cards. In Delhi, the ceremony will be inaugurated by former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

It was reported that last year the number of new voters was 55 lakh, but this year it has substantially increased to 1.11 crore.
