New Delhi: Blueline buses proved to be the ‘killer line’ once again on Sunday. A newly-married man was killed and 11 others injured when a Blue line bus plying on route no. 221 lost control and ran over people standing on the pavement near ISBT, Kashmiri Gate.

The bus plying between Anand Vihar and Mori Gate lost its control while descending the fly over and trampled people standing on the pavement early on Sunday morning before coming to halt as it hit a parked police van. The driver is on the run after the incident.

All the injured were admitted to Bara Hindu Rao Hospital and Sushruta Trauma Centre. The deceased was identified as Pyara Singh, a resident of Piprola, Shahjahanpur.

Among those injured, eight belong to Motihari district of Bihar. They had de-boarded another bus and were proceeding towards Inter State Bus Terminals (ISBT) when they were knocked down by the speeding bus.

Among injured are Pramod, Ramanand, Ram Janam, Krishn Pandit, Ram Roop, Parmanand, Baginder Rai, Tuntun Rai, Harjeet, Manav and Asha.

Four injured people, including Asha who is a resident of Sarai Rohilla, are stated to be in critical condition.
