Vadodara: The body of Indian student Tosha Thakkar will be brought to Vadodara in next few days, an Australian consulate official told her family members.

The 24-year-old student was murdered in Sydney last week.

The official also promised that Australian police would investigate the incident and bring the culprit to book.

Her body was found stuffed inside a suitcase near a canal in Sydney last week after she was allegedly raped and murdered.

Tosha, daughter of a local businessman Sunil Thakkar, was pursuing her post-graduate course in accountancy in Australia for the last three years.

"The Australian official informed us that Tosha's body would be flown to Vadodara, in two to three days. Then we will cremate her," said Thakkar.

"We had learnt that our daughter was missing on the morning of last Wednesday when her friend from Australia rang up," Thakkar said, adding the same night they learnt about recovery of her body from a suitcase.

She had completed her graduation in Vadodara.
