Srinagar: The son of a Sikh engineer, who went missing two months ago, on Thursday claimed that the body recovered by police from Awantipora area of south Kashmir on Wednesday bore strong resemblance to his father.
"I have seen the photograph of the deceased and it has strong resemblance to my father," A S Bali told said. Police on Wednesday found a body from Jhelum river at Charsoo in Awantipora area of Pulwama district.
Superintendent of Police, Awantipora, Irshad Ahmad said they were in the process of ascertaining the identity of the deceased.
Jagdeep Singh Bali, who was working in state's Public Health Engineering Department, went missing on February 18 after he left his Magarmal Bagh home.
Call details of his mobile phone revealed that he was in the vicinity of Aloochibagh area till 11.00 PM that day. The phone was switched off after that.
