New Delhi: Expressing concern over Jagjit Singh's hospitalisation, film industry has come together to wish a speedy recovery to the ghazal maestro.

Singh, 70, was admitted to Leelavati Hospital after he suffered a brain hemorrhage and had undergone a life-saving surgery. His condition remains critical.

"A man with a silken voice, effortless and so endearing in all the most important and popular renditions of his. May he recover fast. He has had a traumatic life after the death of his only son at a very young age in a rash driving accident," wrote Amitabh Bachchan on his blog.

Lata Mangeshkar, who had recorded an album 'Sajda' with the singer wrote, "I just got to know that our favourite ghazal singer Jagjit Singh had suffered a brain hemorrhage and he's in the hospital. I pray to God for his speedy recovery."

"Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho ....a song from Arth sung by Jagjit Singh echoes in my heart as I read the news of him being hospitalized," Mahesh Bhatt posted on Microblogging site.

"Hope Mr Jagjit Singh gets well soon....," Farhaan Akhtar tweeted.

"My prayers for Jagjit Singh, the Best Gazal Singer of our country. May his health be fine soon," Anupam Kher tweeted.
"God knows what's wrong with this world, now Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh suffers from brain hemorrhage. Sending him good wishes and praying for his well being," Akshay Kumar wrote.

Singer Shreya Ghoshal tweeted, "Jagjit Singh uncle in critical condition. I am praying constantly for his recovery. Very sad about Jagjit Uncle's health.. Hope he becomes fine soonest.. Good night.. God bless us all..."

"Lets all pray for Jagjit Singhji's health.. He is critical at Lilavati hospital.. May god oversee this and allow mercy to him..," actor Aftab Shivdesani wrote on Twitter.
