Guwahati, (Agencies): ‘SPECTRUM’, a book inking on the current social issues, which are relevant in the present perspective, authored by noted writer from Assam Arup K. Hazarika was jointly released by Gynanpith awardee Dr. Mamoni Raisom Goswami and former Minister and social activist Hemoprabha Saikia.

Goswami while releasing the book  said that it discusses diverse issues on education, crime against children, anatomy of violence, terrorism, women and terrorism, environment, divorce, that could be related to our lives.

The noted litterateur also said that even if she had inaugurated over 400 books so far, she has found this unique as the book release was that the function was held in the living room of the author’s residence in an intimate manner.

Goswami was also appreciative of Hazarika launching his book on the death anniversary of his social activist and lawyer mother Arati Hazarika "as mother is the beginning of all creations and creativity. It is the mother who gives spiritual strength to an individual besides knowledge".

The book also gives glimpses into issues such as corruption, human rights, prostitution, human trafficking, urbanisation, male depression, old age, etc.
