Rio de Janeiro: Borussia Dortmund have made a 16 million euro bid for Atletico Mineiro's Brazil international midfielder Bernard.

The Champions League runners-up see Bernard as a possible replacement for Germany international playmaker Mario Gotze, sold to Bayern Munich for 37 million euros earlier this month.

"At the moment it is only speculation but I am happy about it because it is recognition of what I have done for Atletico. In the event an offer is made that is good for Atletico Mineiro and good for me. We will sit down and talk to see if an agreement can be reached," Bernard said.

Atletico are understood to have placed a 20 million euro price tag on the 20-year-old, who has been included in Brazil's squad for next month's FIFA Confederations Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur have also reportedly contacted Atletico Mineiro's president Alexandre Kalil about a possible move for the Brazilian.
