The film collected Rs 10.40 crore on its opening day, and turned out to be highest grossing film in 2015 on day one.

Trade analyst and movie critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the news. “#Roy Fri 10.40 cr, Sat 11.16 cr. Total:  21.56 cr. India bi,” he tweeted.

The film which opened on 2500 screens collected Rs 10.40 crore on Friday and Rs 11.16 crore on Saturday, making the total to 21.56 crore.

While the critics have turned the film down by saying that the film lacks  momentum and energy. The film has been categorized as listless and sluggish that can put an insomniac to sleep.

However, so far it has not affected the box office collection of 'Roy'.

Helmed by debutante director Vikramjit Singh, the film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranbir Kapoor.
