Mumbai: A teenager was detained for questioning on Wednesday at Palghar in Thane district for posting “vulgar” comments against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray and the people of Maharashtra on Facebook, police said.

“We have received a complaint against a person that he posted some objectionable comments against Raj Thackeray on Facebook. We are questioning him as we do not want to repeat the same mistakes committed a few days ago,” an officer at Palghar police station said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The boy has not been charged and police have sought legal opinion, he said.

Meanwhile, Kundan Sankhe, president of the Thane rural unit of the MNS, has claimed the boy had made “vulgar” comments about Raj Thackeray, and the people of Maharashtra.

“Our Thane rural district MNS student wing president Bhavish complained to police and asked them to investigate the matter. Police are questioning that person,” he said.

The incident comes close on the heels of the arrest of two girls at Palghar after one of them criticised the November 18 shutdown for Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray’s funeral and the other “liked” the Facebook post, causing an outrage.

SP (Thane rural) Ravindra Sengaonkar and senior police inspector Shrikant Pingle were suspended on Tuesday for the arrest of the girls on November 19, 2012 though charges against them are yet to be dropped.

Palghar observed a Shiv Sena-sponsored bandh on Wednesday over action taken against the police officers.

Meanwhile the detained teenager has been identified as Sunil Vishwakarma (19), police said.

"My brother is innocent. He told me that his account might have been hacked and objectionable comments may have been posted," Sunil's brother Ramji Vishwakarma said.

When MNS party workers approached Sunil, alleging that his Facebook account contained comments against Raj Thackeray, he cooperated and also went to the police station along with them, Ramji said.

NOVEMBER 28, 2012: India's population is a mountain of S-H-I-T. Bal Thackeray and Raj Thackeray are particles of S-H-I-T in this mountain of S-H-I-T. Saying that the Congress party has the numbers to let Foreign Direct Investment sail through is like saying Shiv Sena has the numbers to jail anyone writing against particles of S-H-I-T like Bal Thackeray and Raj Thackeray. What matters is not who has the numbers but who has nuclear weapons. The British did not have the numbers in 1857 yet enforced their will by killing, by guns and sword, over ten million Indians in just the ten years after 1857 and continue to enforce their will today of which the ability of Anglo-Americans to bring Foreign Direct Investment -- via Indian governments which are proxies for the CIA with all political parties controlled by CIA-RAW -- is an example. But not guns and sword but nuclear weapons are what matter today and who has the nuclear weapons? IndiasTraitorGovtAndMediaDOTblogspot.com Satish Chandra
