The company had posted a net profit of Rs 100.56 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal, Britannia Industries said in a filing to the BSE.

Consolidated net sales rose to Rs 2,033.28 crore during the quarter under review, 13.40 percent higher than Rs 1,793.01 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.     

Britannia Industries Managing Director Varun Berry said, "This quarter is a pay-off of all our efforts of strengthening our building blocks with great momentum on distribution, building cost efficiencies, right sizing our fixed costs and building a strong and passionate team."

Shares of Britannia Industries on Tuesday closed at Rs 1,923.15 apiece on BSE, up 0.94 percent from their previous close.
