Ferozepur: BSF sleuths on Tuesday foiled a bid by Pakistan-based drug peddlers to smuggle a huge consignment of drugs inside Indian territory and recovered 11 kg of heroin and fake currency with a face value of Rs 12 lakh.
The incident took place at around 4:15 am near Border Outpost Khalra in Amarkot sector, BSF officials said.
They said that the jawans on duty at the BOP observed some movement near the fencing along the alignment of a border pillar.
Later on, when the jawans challenged the intruders, the peddlers retreated towards Pakistani side leaving behind the consignment of heroin valued at over Rs 55 crore in the street market and the fake Indian currency.
