Lucknow: The Election Commission on Thursday issued a notice to BSP state president and party candidate from Padrauna seat Swami Prasad Maurya for allegedly violating the model code of conduct.

"A notice has been issued to Maurya and he has been asked to submit his reply by tomorrow," joint chief electoral officer Anita Meshram told reporters.

Maurya had allegedly misbehaved with security forces personnel after he was prevented from entering a polling centre at Tulsi school during second phase of Assembly elections on February 11.

Later, the BSP state president, however, entered the centre.
