Ambedkar Nagar: Bahujan Samaj Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh minister Ram Achal Rajbhar turned millionaire to billionaire in span of just five years without venturing into a big project.

Ram Achal Rajbhar, a close aide of BSP Chief Mayawati, had mentioned Rs one crore in his affidavit filed during Assembly polls for Akbarpur seat in 2007. Rajbhar became Transport Minister in Mayawati regime.

The BSP leader in his affidavit mentioned that he had a house worth Rs 37 lakh and agriculture land worth Rs 25 lakh. Rajbhar also had Rs 20, 000 at SBI, Akbarpur branch and Rs 32, 951 at Nainital Bank, Lucknow branch. Besides, he owned a Bolero car and a pistol worth Rs 1.25 lakh.

In Lokayukta investigation, it has revealed that former BSP minister’s total assets increased to Rs 10, 33, 97, 50, 000 in five years. Moreover, names of several donors belonging to BPL category have come to light. Rajbhar got donations from people from BPL category in the range of Rs 20,000 to Rs 1,00,000.

Vigilance Department on Wednesday filed a case against Rajbhar under Anti-Corruption Act. The investigation may reveal the sources of BSP leader’s income.
