Lucknow: BSP on Thursday moved an adjournment motion in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, alleging that security had been removed at memorials constructed during its regime, and great personalities were being "insulted" due to this.

Bahujan Samaj Party members later staged a walkout after deeming the response of Leader of the House Ahmad Hasan "unsatisfactory".

The BSP members alleged that great personalities were being insulted, by defacing their statues and memorials, as part of a conspiracy under the SP regime.

Chairman of Legislative Council rejected the adjournment motion and directed the state government to ensure proper upkeep and security of the memorials of great personalities.

Meanwhile, BJP members walked out of the House on the issue of communal tension in Bhadoi district. The chairman, while rejecting the adjournment notice of the BJP demanding a debate on the issue, directed the government to take stern action to check communal tension and anti-social elements.
