The film features an ensemble cast of Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Shefali Shah, Anil Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar and tells the story of a dysfunctional Punjabi family on a cruise trip.
    
In the trailer, Kamal Mehra (Anil) and Neelam Mehra (Shefali) are seen worrying about their two children played by  Ranveer and Priyanka. Anushka plays Ranveer's love interest, while Farhan is seen wooing Priyanka.
    
Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who has worked with Zoya in "Luck by Chance", praised the trailer, saying, "Good show Zoya. Your trailer heralds the storm that is coming! All looking good special mention to Anil Kapoor. He looks dashing."

"Dil Dhadakne Do" is scheduled to hit theatres on June 5. Zoya's last film was 2011 road-trip, friendship tale "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara". She had also directed a section in "Bombay Talkies" in 2013.
