New Delhi: Being generous to the reputed research and educational institutions located in various states, Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has made special allocation of fund for them in the General Budget 2012-13 which was present in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

Some of the institutions which have been allocated special funds include- Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar and Jammu & Kashmir-based Kashmir Kesar Mart. 

Hissar Agricultural University of Haryana has been allocated Rs 50 crore, Kerala’s Farming University has got 100 crore, Karnataka’s Dharwad Farming University has got Rs 50 crore, Odisha’s Farming and Technology University has got Rs 50 crore. While Hyderabad’s Acharya N G Ranga Agricultural University has got Rs 100 crore and Gujarat’s Rural Management Institution has got Rs 25 crore. An allocation of Rs 50 cr has also been made in the budget to construct a world class water quality research centre in Kolkata with focus on arsenic.

Similarly, Economics Department of Rajiv Gandhi University in Arunachal Pradesh has been allotted Rs 10 crore.
