Saurabh Patel will present his first budget after he was made the state’s Finance Minister in place of Nitin Patel by Chief Minister Anandiben Patel.

The Budget Session will continue until July 30.

Earlier in March, the Gujarat government headed by then chief minister Narendra Modi had presented a vote-on-account due to the Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress, which is also geared for the Budget Session, is likely to take on the new government on issues of law and order, corruption in the allotment of Gujarat Housing Board (GHB) draws, which were later cancelled by the state government, and water shortage due to delayed monsoon.
