As per sources, the foundational session of the 16th Lok Sabha is expected to commence from next month. The Cabinet in its meeting on Thursday may also ponder over the election of Speaker and other formalities for the constitution of new Lok Sabha.

The government has decided on the name of Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Kamal Nath to become the pro-tem Speaker of the new Lok Sabha.

A brief session of Parliament is proposed to be convened early next month, probably from June 4 to 12, to enable newly-elected members to the Lok Sabha to take oath besides election of Speaker.

The government is likely to begin with the budget session in coming July.

In its first meet on Tuesday evening in New Delhi, the new Modi Cabinet took stern decisions like formation of a Special Investigation Team in blackmoney case.

Meanwhile, on the same day after its first Cabinet meet addressing a press conference, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the Cabinet had to go by priority and would take up other important issues soon.
