Jaipur: Amid speculations of a Cabinet reshuffle in Rajasthan in the aftermath of the removal of controversial minister Mahipal Maderna, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s meeting with Governor Shivraj Patil has further added fuel to the ongoing debate.

According to sources, in his recent visits to New Delhi, Gehlot has held talks with Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and her political secretary Ahmed Patel.

Following his visit, the party’s state in-charge, Mukul Wsanik, also held meetings with Congress officials here.

In this meeting, which was attended by the party officials and MLAs, the matters like reshuffle in the Cabinet, ministers not giving adequate importance to party leaders and political appointments were raised.

Sensing the unhappiness of MLAs and leaders, Wasnik had advised the Chief Minister to go for Cabinet reshuffle as soon as possible.

It is expected that after Gehlot’s crucial meeting with Governor, some rejig in the Cabinet may take place next week.

It may be noted here that Education Minister Bhanwar Lal Meghwal has been raising corruption charges against Food Minister Babu Lal Nagar, Minister of State for Mines Bharosi Lal Jatav and Public works Department Minister Pramod Jain.

Besides, the Muslim organizations have also targeted the Home Minister, Shanti Dhariwal, in the wake of communal tension at Gopalgarh in Bharatpur district. The violence, which claimed ten members of the Mewa community, has further added to the speculations of Cabinet reshuffle
