The blast took place under Awapalli police station limits when a road opening party of CAF was conducting its task, Bijapur Additional Superintendent of Police Indira Kalyan Elesela said.
While combing the forest, jawan Gangesh Yadav of CAF's 13 battalion accidentally came in contact with the pressure bomb planted by the ultras. In the blast, he suffered severe injuries on his legs and hands, he said.
Later, the jawan was shifted to a local hospital for treatment, he said.
A search operation has been launched in the region to nab the attackers, he said.
A jawan of the same CAF unit was injured yesterday in a landmine blast triggered by Naxals in Murdunda region.
