New Delhi: Alleging the Delhi Development Authority for mishandling Master Plan 2021, the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has found gross irregularities in implementation of the project.

According to the CAG, DDA spent almost 200 times more than the estimated amount in several projects while crores of rupees were squandered without the official permission in some other projects.

Assessing the land acquisition and development programmes of DDA for the Master Plan 2021, CAG learnt that the Authority used less amount than the fund allocated in the budget.

DDA used less than 70 percent of the allocated budget for land acquisition and 49 percent less for land development, CAG report found.

As per the CAG report, DDA could allot only 5539.94 acre land from 6046.06 acre land acquired in between 2005 and 2010 for the Master Plan.
The report also states that 271.13 acre land is lying unused.

The CAG report also mentioned that 1308.59 acre land of DDA is under unauthorized possession.
