Kalka: Installation of cameras in trial rooms and hotel rooms is not something we haven't heard before. But a camera secretly installed in train lavatory is something that has caught the Railway officials off guard.

Recently, the case came into light with Rajdhani Express which was suspected of having cameras fixed in its lavatory. Therefore to keep a check on the wrong doings committed by miscreants, the bogies of long distance trains departing from New Delhi are being thoroughly checked.

Notably, few days back Railway officials received information about cameras installed in the lavatories of trains coming from Delhi. Subsequently, considering the seriousness of the issue, the Railways and security agencies initiated monitoring of the bogies.

AK Siddiqui, one of the officials of Railway Protection Force said, “The department has been given directives to check for the cameras secretly installed in train lavatory and to remove the cameras, if detected," said Siddiqui.

He mentioned that RPF officer Sangam Yadav and his team are actively involved in the process of checking the trains with a special thrust on coaches reserved for female passengers.
