Patna: The CPI(M-L) Liberation on Thursday demanded cancellation of the Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve project in Bihar's West Champaran district alleging that the move would oust the tribal population from their land.

The land of the tribal Thar and Uraon communities have been forcibly acquired for the Valmikinagar Tiger Project and the local people forced to migrate for livelihood, CPI (M-L)
Liberation leader Kunal claimed in a statement.

Tribals were faced with the prospect of de-settlement and relocation as the villages under Gaunaha, Ramnagar, Mantand and Bagaha blocks had been fenced for the project, he said.

The district administration has stopped construction of roads, schools, houses under the Indira Awas Yojana and electrification in view of expansion of the wildlife project, the Liberation leader also alleged.
