Jamalpur (Munger): The police constable aspirants vented their anger against the Bihar Military Police’s unilateral decision to stop the recruitment process here on Wednesday. The incident left over a dozen of candidates injured.

The incident took place when the recruitment process for Bihar Military Police was stopped all of a sudden. The aspirants went berserk and resorted to violence at JSA Maidan, residences of railway officials and the station.

In the police lathicharge, several candidates hailing from Banka, Bhagalpur, Champaran and Bettiah districts got injured in the stampede. Later after the interference of Jamalpur Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjan Kumar, the irate candidates were cooled down.

Colonel K Kishor said, “As per the advertisement published for the recruitment, the candidates had to report the venue at 7 o’clock on December 27. Several tests were to be conducted on December 28 and 29.”
