Abohar (Punjab): Slamming the ruling Akali Dal-BJP government for poor development of  Punjab, the former Chief Minister and state Congress president Captain Amrinder Singh said that the poor policies framed by the ruling dispensation has made Punjab slum to 18th position in the list of developed Indian states.

Addressing Punjab Bachao Rally, he said nearly 47 lakh people are unemployed in the state. The state government has made no effort to overcome the problem.

He said, “Badal government has filed fake legal cases against 50,000 Congress workers and supporters wand the cases will be revoked if the Congress comes into power.”

Pointing out the contribution made during the Congress regime, Amrinder Singh said that Nangal Dam, Agriculture University and multi specialty PGI were party’s initiative to give Punjab a world class status. He criticized Akali Dal for not doing any major achievement.

“Aklali Dal has done lots for rich society by setting big education institute and hospitals, but they have done nothing for the poor.”
