New Delhi: In a major revelation, the Delhi gang rape victim had suffered cardiac arrest before a decision was taken to airlift her to Singapore.

Dr MC Sharma, chief of AIIMS trauma centre informed ‘Dainik Jagran’ that the gangrape victim suffered a major heart attack on Tuesday night and remained in an unconscious state for next 22 hours. The doctors later configured her on Life-support system.  On Wednesday morning, the noted cardiologist Dr. Naresh Trehan reached Safdarjung hospital to examine the victim and suggested to airlift her abroad as the girl remained critical.

Rape victim remains critical in Singapore

Later, the 23-year-old Delhi gang rape victim was flown to Singapore in an air ambulance for specialised treatment and was admitted at the Mount Elizabeth hospital on Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, the Singapore hospital authorities said "The patient arrived at Mount Elizabeth Hospital's Intensive Care Unit this morning in an extremely critical condition"
