New Delhi: Global hospitality major Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group on Monday said it is considering to bring its high-end lifestyle brand 'Hotel Missoni' in India as it looks to expand presence in the country.
"We are engaging with our parent company to launch Hotel Missoni in India," Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group Executive Vice President South Asia K B Kachru told.
Without specifying the timeline for introduction of the brand in India, he said: "We have started holding discussions with interested parties."
Commenting on the global spread of the brand, Carlson CEO and President Hubert Joly said: "Missoni is the most premium and high-end brand in our portfolio but very small at present with only three properties under operations."
Hotel Missoni properties are currently located at Scotland, Kuwait and Doha, he added.
As per its website, the strategy for Hotel Missoni is to expand the brand in key city centers and resort locations in all the glamorous parts of the world.
The global hospitality firm is betting big on the Indian market with plans to operate 100 hotels across brands in India by 2015. Over and above this, it will also be opening 49 hotels under mid-scale brand 'Park Inn' in North and Central India by 2024.
Carlson is aiming for contribution from India to its global revenues to increase to 7 percent by 2015 from the current 5 percent. In 2011 the global hospitality chain had reported a 13 percent increase in its system wide revenues to USD 38 billion.
