German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz on 11th February launched the diesel variant of its C-Class sedan, priced up to Rs 42.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company has launched the C-Class diesel in two trims, the 'C 220 CDI Style' variant priced at Rs 39.9 lakh and the 'C 220 CDI Avantgarde' priced at Rs 42.9 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi), Mercedes-Benz said in a statement. The diesel variants of the new C-Class will be available as completely built units (CBU) only, it added. Besides, Mercedes-Benz said it has commenced the local production of the new-generation C-Class petrol at its Chakan plant.
Carmaker Hyundai on 18th February launched it's new updated Verna which was showcased at the auto show in Beijing, China last year. The buyers pre-booked the much anticipated sedan by paying a token amount of Rs. 21,000 at Hyundai dealership stores across the nation. As part of the plan, the company which sold 4.11 lakh units last year launched the updated version of its mid-sized sedan Verna priced up to Rs 12.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
Volkswagen launched Jetta facelift
German automotive multinational Volkswagen on 17th February unveiled the new Jetta MY 2015 starting at Rs 15.3 lakhs. The facelift Jetta MY will be available in both petrol and diesel variants. The 2.0-litre diesel manual engine comes with the on-road price of Rs 16.5-20.5 lakhs and the diesel DSG costs Rs 21.4 lakhs . Base model of 1.4-litre petrol version is priced at Rs 15.3 lakhs while Rs 17 lakh is the quoted on-road price for the top-of-the-line trim in petrol version.
Luxury carmaker BMW introduced its costliest car in the country by rolling out the 'i8' sports car, which also is its first model hybrid car. At Rs 2.29 crore ex-showroom Mumbai, BMW i8 is also the first offering from the German car major’s sub-brand ‘i’, which focuses on sustainable mobility and hitech car development. The machine sports a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 131-hp electric engine, offering a combined power of 266 hp, a combined mileage of 47 kmpl and can gain a speed of 230 km. It also sports a regenerative breaking system, which is another first for the company.
