Kolkata: With no effect of her complaint to the Prime Minister on petrol price rise, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has been engaged in chalking out another game plan.

On his home-return, state Industry Minister and Trinamool Vice President Partha Chatterjee reported his conversation with the Prime Minister in Delhi to Banerjee.

The sources have revealed that a core committee meeting will soon be held for chalking out the party’s further strategy.

It is to be noted, the TMC supremo has warned the Central government of quitting UPA, if another price hike takes place regarding petrol, diesel, LPG and kerosene.

However, if petrol witnesses another price rise, the core committee will discuss on whether the TMC will quit on a short notice or will step out of the Cabinet and extend support to the UPA from outside.

The committee will also look into in the challenges that will be faced by the TMC government in West Bengal after it quits the UPA.

Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee said, “Trinamool has already expressed its protest against the price rise but will continue to pressurize the government to control inflation.”
