New Delhi (Jagran News Network): Calling the arrest of A Raja in the 2G spectrum allocation scam a “definite turn of events”, Janata Party leader on Wednesday welcomed the move.

"I would say this is the end of the beginning," Swamy told reporters.

Swamy's petition on the 2G allocation -- which names Raja as an accused -- is to come up for hearing before the Supreme Court next week.

It would have been embarrassing for the CBI to face SC later this week, he added. But in any case, he said, “The law has begun to operate and we have to thank Supreme Court for that.”

The court might have issued an arrest warrant for Raja had he not been arrested.

Swamy added that he would like to see not just Raja but all of those who shared in the “loot” of the exchequer and those who encouraged the DMK member to indulge in improper behavior.
