Kanpur: A CBI court on Sunday granted permission for the interrogation of Irfan, an accused in the Shehla Masood murder case.

The warrant for interrogation was handed over to the district jail authorities here by a CBI team which had come from Indore.

"After receiving the warrant, we have sought permission from the Metropolitan Magistrate to give Irfan's custody to CBI sleuths," District jail Superintendent R N Pandey said.

"The warrant mentioned that Irfan is also accused in the Shehla Masood murder case and has been to taken to Bhopal for further interrogation in the matter," he added.

Irfan, an alleged contract killer, was arrested by UP Special Task Force team from the Talaq Mahal locality under Beconganj police station on February 27.
