Lucknow: After registering two fresh FIRs in the National Rural Health Ministry (NHRM) scam in the state, the anti-corruption unit of CBI has fastened the pace of its investigation. The agency has started gathering further evidences in the scam.

In this regard, the probing agency took a stock of the files and also questioned the concerned officials allegedly involved in the scam. The CBI team also visited NRHM and CMO offices.

The team took details of the 2009-10 and 2010-11 budget from NRHM office and also inquired about the officials looking after the collection and distribution of the budget.

After inquiring about the works done under the scheme, the CBI team also hinted that a questionnaire would be prepared. It added that it would also speak to the officials who had filed a case on April 5 and 7 in the Wazirganj police station.

Meanwhile, the CBI’s research wing continued its probe in the mysterious murder of Deputy CMO Dr YS Sachan and murders of two chief medical officers (CMOs) VK Arya and BP Singh.

The research wing also spoke to the officials who were responsible for the arrest of persons accused in the murder of CMO Dr BP Singh and tried to extract information on how the officials got clue about the murder and what was the reaction of the accused.

According to sources, the CBI’s anti-corruption bureau after discussing the cases related to the scam has formed a new guideline for investigation of the scam, besides gathering vital information from an Inspector of the Wazirganj police station.
