Ranchi: What could set another round of political turmoil in the state, a CBI officer testified in court here on Friday that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar received money in Fodder scam.

The investigation officer claimed that Nitish Kumar took Rs 1 crore from one of the accused.

CBI Officer AK Jha testified when counsel of Lalu Yadav, Chitranjan Kumar and Prabhat Kumar were questioning him during a hearing of the case related to the scam.

In a special CBI court of Justice RR Tripathi, AK Jha claimed that the fact was revealed by the accused SB Sinha during the investigation of the scam.

At the time of investigation, SB Sinha had stated that during the 1995 Lok Sabha election, Vijay Kumar Mallik transferred an amount of Rs 1 crore to Nitish Kumar from the total amount swindled in the fodder scam. The amount was given to Nitish in one of the hotels of Delhi. Nitish was member of Samta Party during that time.

During the court hearing it was brought into light that an amount of Rs 10 lakh was also delivered to Nitish Kumar at MLA Sudha Srivastava's house in Patna. The money was delivered by SB Singh, a help of Mahendra Prasad.

Another accused, RK Das, in his testimony under section 164 has said that Rs five lakh was given to Nitish Kumar.

During the court hearing, it was also brought into notice that legislators-Shivanand Tiwari, Radhakant Jha and Gulshan Ajmani got money in fodder scam.
