New Delhi: Too occupied with self praise for putting Rajiv Gandhi assassins to trial, the CBI posted Dhanu’s name in the list on its official website and forgot that she was the one who blew herself along with former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in the suicide blast.

The investigating agency, on its website, claimed for sending four culprits including Dhanu to gallows. However, after the matter got widely discussed in this connection, the CBI removed her name. Also, many senior officials are questioning the CBI’s move to post the matter on its main page.

According to a top official, in a bid to give new text to the CBI’s website, it was suggested that the agency should post its achievements with prominence.

Following this, in order to please the Central government, the CBI posted its success story by putting trial story of Rajiv killers on its main page.

The text reads that how Dhanu went near Gandhi with RDX tied to her waist and killed him in the suicide blast.

“The Designated TADA Court in Chennai gave death sentences to all the 26 accused. However, on an appeal to the Supreme Court, only four (Dhanu and three others) were sentenced to death. Others were given various jail terms. The Supreme Court praised the CBI for doing a good job,” says the website.
