Lucknow/New Delhi: CBI on Thursday sought permission from a Lucknow court to carry out a lie detection test on former minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya in connection with the killing of Kunda DSP Zia-ul-Haq.

The agency moved an application in the court of special CBI judge Mirza Zeenat seeking permission to conduct polygraph test on the former food and civil supplies minister with.

The court has fixed June 13 as the next date of hearing on the application. It has also issued notice to Raja Bhaiya asking him to present on the date of hearing.

CBI sources said the purpose of this move was to ensure that no angle of his alleged involvement is left out. They said although CBI does not have any evidence which directly links Raja Bhaiya with the murder of the DSP, it wants to get a clear picture of his role, if any, in the case.

Haq was shot dead on March 2 in Balipur village in Kunda area of Pratapgarh district where he had gone to probe murder of village head Nanhe Yadav.
