New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has decided to tighten the noose around the agencies which were responsible for shoddy work in the development project of the Commonwealth Games.

The CBI has asked the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and the Comptroller of Auditor General (CAG) for a detailed report of the projects, which are under scanner.

This has rattled the engineers, who worked on several projects. The engineers dashed of letters to the Prime Minister, the CAG, the CVC and the Rail Minister mentioning their anguish as they feel getting mistreated for contributing to the Games.

The development projects of the CWG were entrusted upon the CPWD, DDA, PWD, MCD and NDMC. The outline of the projects was made in 2004. When the government took serious note, the agencies awoke from slumber and many projects did not start even till 2007.

According to sources, work was finished after extended deadlines, and the outlays of projects doubled, which is under scanner.

The investigating agencies objected the delay in the work and asked for details about the projects which are under scrutiny, said the sources.
