New Delhi: In a bid to keep a tab on human trafficking and abduction cases across the country, the Central Bureau of Investigation has set up anti-human trafficking unit to look into the operations against children especially girls.

The CBI has also announced that person giving any information leading to arrest or actions against traffickers would be given a reward of Rs 2 lakh.

CBI information officer RK Gaud said, “The unit will function from its headquarters office located in New Delhi. The special unit will be entitled to collect and analyse data related to kidnapping and trafficking. People having any information on such gangs can inform the CBI on helpline number 011-24368638. If the information leads to an action, the person would be rewarded with Rs 2 lakh.”

“The intelligence report has claimed that there are large numbers of such gangs involved in human trafficking. These gangs are involved in abducting children and girls. They are forced to beg at holy places or to take up prostitution,” a senior CBI official said.
