Jaipur: In a surprising incident, the CBI officials probing the Dariya fake encounter case have sought protection as they fear for their life from the accused policemen.

Earlier, four out of the six accused including SI Subash Godara, Constable Badriram, Jaganram and Sardar Singh surrendered before a CBI court here on Monday.

Two other accused, Additional Director General of police AK Jain and IPS officer Arshad Ali are still absconding.

The CBI officials involved with the case claimed that they have been threatened by the accused. CBI director Amar Paratap Singh has written a letter to state government demanding security for his team, who are investigating the case.

The CBI director has asserted that the accused have openly threatened the investigators and two absconding senior police officers pose a big threat to them.

Meanwhile, the home ministry has directed the state Director General of police to ensure security of CBI officials.

Interestingly, senior BJP leader of Rajasthan Rajendra Singh Rathore has been linked with the case.

It needs to be mentioned that the charge sheet filed after the investigation claimed that Dara Singh was killed in a fake encounter which was well planned. There are 16 accused in the case, out of which 15 were cops.
