New Delhi: The CBI has started probing the alleged irregularities in the appointment of the officials by Commonwealth Games Organising Committee (OC) during 2003-09.

Notably, more than 2100 officials were appointed by OC. According to the CBI, OC Chairman Suresh Kalmadi had arbitrarily appointed highly paid but ineligible officials preferring his kith and kin.

The CBI has filed 15 FIRs regarding the CWG scams, Kalmadi along with other convicted officials are serving jail in this connection.

However, no one has been convicted yet in the case of irregularities in appointment of officials by the OC.

The Central Vigilance Commission had already raised questions over the alleged irregularities in the appointments made by the OC.
