Lucknow: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing into the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam is all set to file RC (Regular Case) in six cases within a week. During the preliminary enquiry, the agency has collected certain evidences that are sufficient enough to file an RC.

Acting on the direction issued by the Allahabad High Court, the CBI will file case against the health officials regarding embezzlement of funds. In November, the CBI registered five preliminary enquiries against civil construction, medicine purchase, DG Medical Health Society and work done by Chief Medical Officers in 72 districts. Five teams were formed to investigate the scam.

According to the sources, the sleuths have found strong evidences in these five cases.  After getting permission from the senior authority, the CBI will file RC against civil construction. Separate RC will be filed for the purchase of medicines under NRHM. The CBI has also summoned the doctors who distributed bill vouchers during health programmes. It includes doctors from gynecology hospitals and Community Health Centres (CHC).
