Lucknow: In the latest development relating to the NRHM scam, the CBI has decided to investigate more people based on the information given by G K Batra during his interrogation. GK Batra is the MD of the state government-owned public sector unit, Shreeton India Ltd that is allegedly accused of financial irregularities.

Batra, who was on remand for past 72 hours have provided important facts which will facilitate CBI in their investigations. According to sources, Batra during his interrogation named a few officers and contractors who have not been probed in the NRHM scam so far. Sources say that CBI took Batra to prime spots and found crucial proofs from the Shreeton’s office.

Batra is accused of financial irregularities in the purchase of computers for hospitals across the state and the CMO offices under the NRHM scheme. For the contracts no tenders were floated nor were the basic formalities completed. The transactions were made on fake bill vouchers.

Now when the CBI is aware of the people who might have a role in the scam, it has begun its search operation. CBI arrested G K Batra on January 7.
