The resumed talks were planned to be held between the government's Union Peace Making Work Committee (UPWC) and the ethnic armed groups' National Ceasefire Coordination Team (NCCT), a news agency  reported quoting the Myanmar Peace Center (MPC).

MPC was established in Yangon, with European Union funding, to serve as a platform for dialogue.

Despite being informed by the UPWC, the NCCT responded by saying that they would have their own meeting in Thailand around the proposed date.
