Simri Bakhtiyarpur (Saharsa): Holding the Centre responsible for snail pace development in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said the state is witnessing poor performance due to lackadaisical attitude of the Union Government.

The CM told reporters, “The Centre did not grant Bihar the status of special state. The state Congress leaders have kept silent over the issue.”

Commenting over the Koshi issue, Nitish said, “Despite the PM’s announcement for special package to Koshi flood victims, no funds have been released so far. Therefore, Koshi Rehabilitation project has been started with the support from World Bank.”

Commenting over the central funds, CM informed, “The Congress leaders claim that Delhi is releasing the funds to the states. It seems they own the funds, but truth is that the funds are meant for entire country.”

Despite Centre’s hindrance, Bihar has registered an annual average per capital income growth rate of 18.4 percent, which is highest in the country added the CM.

Praising the youth, Nitish said, “These youngsters have proved their mettle on the national and international level.”
