New Delhi: The Central government has received the annual plan for the Border Area Development Programme (BADP) from Jammu and Kashmir and would soon release the fund for it, informed Union Home Ministry sources.

The plan basically focuses on developing basic infrastructure, roads and electrification of the border areas.

According to Home Ministry sources, the development work under BADP on the border areas of the neighbouring countries is in full swing.

In the month of June, the state of West Bengal and Rajasthan had requested the Finance Ministry to release Rs 164 crore under the BADP scheme. Following which, other states are also likely to make the similar requests.

Notably, the development work under aforesaid scheme is done on the sensitive border areas of the country.
